Capstone Homes in Flagstaff
Northern Arizona's dominant local builder, in Flagstaff since about 2009. DOE Zero Energy Ready partner. Built for 7,000 feet.
Nearly Two Decades
Building at Altitude.
Capstone Homes was founded in 2007 by two industry professionals with more than 45 years of combined homebuilding experience, and has been building in Flagstaff since about 2009. Over that run it has delivered communities across Bellemont, Presidio in the Pines, Flagstaff Ranch, Juniper Point, Canyon del Rio, and the Timber Sky master plan.
The credential that matters most in this climate is energy performance. Capstone is a U.S. Department of Energy Zero Energy Ready Home partner, won a DOE Housing Innovation Award in 2017 for a Flagstaff home in Presidio in the Pines, earned a 2018 Honorable Mention for Flagstaff Meadows in Bellemont, and builds ENERGY STAR® certified homes, a level of certification only about 1% of U.S. builders achieve. At 7,000 feet with roughly 100 inches of snow a year, that shows up on your utility bill every month.
James worked as a construction superintendent and project manager on Capstone job sites before moving to sales, and now sells Capstone homes through Valley Peaks Realty, the builder's brokerage, with access to inventory and pricing before it goes public.

What I Tell Buyers About Capstone
I'm biased and I'll say so: I sell these homes, and before that I built them. I've stood in these framing packages in January, watched the spray foam go into the walls, and signed off on the mechanical rough-ins. So when I say the insulation package and the 95%+ furnaces are the difference between a mountain house that works and one that fights you all winter, that's not a brochure line, it's what I watched go into the walls.
The honest trade-off is price. Capstone's Flagstaff entry point is $653,900 for townhome base plans at The Point, and single-family starts in the low $700s at Timber Sky. That's real money, and it sits above the citywide median. What you're buying for the premium: new systems under a 1/2/10 warranty, energy performance certified by third parties, and finishes you chose instead of a renovation budget for someone else's 1990s choices.
One thing buyers consistently underestimate: the Design Studio appointment on a dirt-start build. Budget real time for it. The selections you make there, cabinetry, flooring, counters, fixtures, are a meaningful slice of your final price, and I'll walk you through what's worth upgrading and what Capstone already includes at standard. Quick move-in homes skip that step and can close in as little as about 60 days.
Which Capstone Community Fits You?
Eight communities, very different buyers. Here's the honest sorting.
Best entry price: The Point at Canyon del Rio
Luxury townhomes in central Flagstaff, 50 homesites, 8 two-story plans from 1,821 to 2,728 sq ft, base plans from $653,900 (current finished inventory runs $820K-$884K). Most plans have a main-floor primary suite, a rarity in Flagstaff new construction.

View CommunityForested luxury: Juniper Point II
Southeast Flagstaff in the ponderosa pines, 11 plans from 1,874 to 3,433 sq ft at $1,004,900 to $1,449,900, several with flex suites. One of the few places to buy a brand-new single-family home inside city limits at this size.
View CommunityLock-and-leave golf: Aspen Ridge II
Just 16 luxury townhomes inside the gated Flagstaff Ranch Golf Club, from $1,050,900. Built for full-time or seasonal owners who want the clubhouse, golf, pools, and trails without yard work, a strong fit for Phoenix second-home buyers.
View CommunityFull custom: Woody Mountain Estates
Half-acre gated forested homesites where every home is design/build custom, no two alike. Eleven starting-point plans from 2,524 to 3,934 sq ft; customs start in the low $1Ms, with completed homes at roughly $1.5M-$2.5M.
View CommunityLast chance / coming next: The Ridge and Atlas
The Ridge at Canyon del Rio is nearly sold out, final homes from $899,900 to $1.24M, so it's a move-now situation, not a browse. Atlas is the next Timber Sky neighborhood, with no pricing published yet; join the interest list to hear first.
